Savannah Resources Plc’s financing strategy for its Barroso lithium project in northern Portugal is a central topic of discussion. A non-repayable grant from the Portuguese state could significantly change the project’s funding structure. Barroso is recognized as a significant potential source of battery-grade spodumene for Europe, and discussion has shifted from the project’s viability to how it will be financed.
The European Commission’s designation of Barroso as a Strategic Project is intended to streamline permitting and attract capital. Savannah’s strategic partnership with AMG Critical Materials, also a major shareholder, adds credibility and industrial expertise.
Government support and the industry partnership are important as Savannah moves towards a final investment decision.
