Sanofi signed a letter of intent with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) to expand public access for Dupixent. The agreement covers four additional indications for the medication. These include pediatric atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, and severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP). The expansion also covers chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The agreement serves as a critical step toward securing reimbursement from public payers across Canada. Sanofi Canada General Manager James Guy stated the deal significantly expands patient access to these treatments.
Patient advocacy groups including Asthma Canada and COPD Canada welcomed the news. Medical experts highlighted that the agreement addresses a significant unmet need for patients with these debilitating conditions.
