Sanofi and Teva Pharmaceuticals reported positive new data from a Phase IIb trial of their co-developed inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) drug, duvakitug. The therapy prompted long-term clinical remission in patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, two common forms of IBD.

Analysts are optimistic about duvakitug’s potential in the anti-TL1A class of therapies. Its high potency and selective characteristics could differentiate it from other anti-TL1A candidates in development.

The positive mid-stage results come as Sanofi and Teva advance duvakitug into late-stage clinical trials.
