Novo Nordisk entered a strategic drug discovery and licensing agreement with Orbis Medicines worth up to $1.4 billion. The collaboration focuses on developing oral macrocycle therapeutics for cardiometabolic diseases. These new treatments aim to replace traditional injectable drugs.
The partnership leverages Orbis’s AI-enabled nGen platform to discover a new class of oral medicines. The deal includes an upfront payment and potential development and commercial milestone payments. Orbis will also receive tiered royalties on future sales.
Novo Nordisk will make an undisclosed strategic investment in the privately held Danish biotech company.
