Novo Nordisk released a new analysis from a late-stage trial of its experimental obesity drug CagriSema. Adult women in the analysis lost an average of 25% of their body weight, exceeding results for Wegovy. The findings were presented at The Menopause Society Annual Meeting and showed significant weight loss across different stages of menopause.
CagriSema combines semaglutide, the active ingredient in Wegovy, with cagrilintide. The treatment is expected to launch early next year.
Analysts project CagriSema could reach nearly $12 billion in peak sales. The results come as Novo Nordisk seeks to maintain its position in the competitive, fast-growing weight-loss drug market.
