Novo Nordisk terminated its collaboration with Ascendis Pharma. The partnership focused on developing long-acting therapies for metabolic diseases using Ascendis' TransCon technology. All development and commercialization rights, including for a once-monthly semaglutide version, returned to Ascendis.

The partnership began in November 2024. It concluded before any program advanced to Phase II trials. Neither company has further financial obligations to the other. The original agreement included potential milestone payments of up to $285 million for Ascendis' lead program. Ascendis announced it will independently pursue these programs.
