NVIDIA’s board of directors authorized an additional $150 billion for its share repurchase program, the largest-ever increase in U.S. corporate history. The move brings the company’s remaining authorization to $235 billion. NVIDIA plans to execute the buyback through fiscal year 2028.

CEO Jensen Huang said strong cash generation from the once-in-a-generation shift to AI allows NVIDIA to invest in growth while returning capital to shareholders.

NVIDIA shares rose more than 2% after the announcement. The buyback is viewed as a signal of management’s confidence in the company’s valuation and growth prospects amid the AI boom. The increase surpasses Apple’s $110 billion authorization in 2024.
