Novo Nordisk signed a $1.4 billion drug discovery and licensing agreement with Orbis Medicines. The partnership focuses on developing oral therapies for cardiometabolic diseases. Novo Nordisk will also make an undisclosed strategic investment in the privately held biotech.
The collaboration utilizes Orbis’s AI-powered nGen platform to develop oral macrocycle drugs. These molecules aim to convert traditional injectable treatments into pill form. The technology targets disease pathways that conventional small-molecule drugs cannot reach.
