Nestlé is investing SFr 563 million ($698 million) to construct a new coffee production plant in Thailand. This move follows the conclusion of Quality Coffee Products (QCP), a joint venture that manufactured Nescafé since 1990.
Thailand's Board of Investment approved the smart factory for the Samut Prakan province. The facility expects to commence operations in the second half of 2028.
The plant will produce 170,000 metric tons of Nescafé products annually. This output includes soluble coffee and ready-to-drink beverages. Nestlé will utilize AI and automation to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
