Merck & Co. inaugurated its new Advance Bioanalytical Facility at its West Point, Pennsylvania, campus on October 15, 2026. The state-of-the-art building represents a $500 million investment. It spans 120,000 square feet.

The facility will use automated robotics and AI to streamline analysis of biological samples from Merck’s clinical development programs. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Merck executives attended the event.

The facility is expected to become fully operational by the end of 2026 or early 2027. It will house between 150 and 200 scientists.

The investment is part of Merck’s broader effort to expand its U.S. research and manufacturing capabilities. It also strengthens the company’s long-standing presence in Pennsylvania, where some of its key breakthroughs have taken place.
