Meta Platforms is returning to debt markets for the first time in six months. The company is seeking to raise at least $20 billion to finance its costly artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out.
The offering includes five tranches of U.S. dollar-denominated bonds, with maturities ranging from five to 30 years. Meta is also planning its first-ever bond sale in euros.
The fundraising follows large bond sales by other tech giants, including Oracle and Alphabet, to fund AI-related spending. It comes shortly after S&P Global Ratings revised Meta’s credit outlook to negative, citing concerns about rising capital expenditures.
