Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals selected Honeywell to provide technologies and services for a planned refinery in Kenya. The facility will have a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day. The contract is valued at approximately $300 million and covers process technologies, licensing, engineering, equipment and digital solutions. Once completed, the refinery is expected to be the world’s largest single-train refinery.
The project builds on a partnership between the companies that spans nearly a decade. The companies expect proven engineering designs Honeywell developed for Dangote’s Lekki refinery in Nigeria to accelerate the Kenya project’s development schedule by almost two years. The refinery will process a wide range of crude oil grades and produce gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and polypropylene.
