Grab Holdings will acquire Delivery Hero’s foodpanda business in Taiwan for $600 million in cash. This transaction marks Grab’s first major expansion outside of Southeast Asia. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026 pending regulatory approval.

Taiwan will become Grab’s ninth market through this acquisition. The foodpanda Taiwan operations generated approximately $1.8 billion in gross merchandise value in 2025. Taiwanese regulators previously blocked Uber’s $950 million bid for the same business in December 2024 due to antitrust concerns.

Grab expects the transaction to be accretive to its earnings. The deal should contribute at least $60 million in incremental adjusted EBITDA by 2028. Grab plans to fully migrate foodpanda’s users, merchants, and drivers to its platform by early 2027.
