Google has launched Playground, an experimental, browser-based platform that allows users to create games using text prompts, with no coding experience required. The tool is available to users in the US aged 18 and over and enables the creation of both 2D and 3D games which can be shared with friends or published to a public gallery.

The platform is powered by Google's AI models and is part of a strategic partnership with Unity. An upcoming integration with Unity Spark is planned to add more professional-level mechanics and high-fidelity 3D capabilities. This move places Google in competition with similar user-generated content platforms like Roblox, which recently announced a similar text-to-game feature.
