Google has launched the Connected Apps Platform, a unified system that lets developers integrate their apps directly into Gemini and Google Search. The platform is in developer preview in the U.S. and aims to help developers build once and reach high-intent users across both services.
More than 50 third-party apps, including Adobe, Peloton and Instacart, are already integrated, with more to come. Developers can use a console to register, test and monitor their apps, including traffic and latency. They can choose to launch in Search, the Gemini app or both.
The platform lets users complete tasks such as ordering groceries or managing projects without switching apps. The expansion of Gemini’s ecosystem follows recent disappointing revenue figures and comes amid market concerns over AI spending.
