Swedish private equity firm EQT AB is reportedly preparing to sell its 51% controlling stake in Spanish theme park operator Parques Reunidos. The deal is valued at approximately €1.7 billion ($1.9 billion). EQT has reportedly hired JPMorgan to advise on the sale process.

Parques Reunidos operates more than 60 theme parks, zoos and water parks across Europe and other parts of the world. It attracts more than 20 million visitors annually.

EQT acquired its majority stake in the company in 2019. The other major shareholders are Corporacion Financiera Alba, with a 25% stake, and Belgian investment fund Groep Brussel Lambert, with 23%.
