Equinor, with partners Petoro and TotalEnergies, announced an oil and gas discovery near the Oseberg field in the North Sea. The new find, named Grimsnes, holds an estimated 19 million to 50 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent. The discovery occurred in production licence PL 190, 145 kilometers west of Bergen.

Equinor plans a fast-track development, leveraging existing infrastructure. The company intends to tie the well to the nearby Oseberg Sør platform. This strategy aims to reduce costs and accelerate production. Equinor anticipates an investment decision as early as summer 2027. Production aims to start within three years.
