Eni is diversifying its liquefied natural gas (LNG) sources to navigate global energy shifts. The Strait of Hormuz crisis removed approximately 36 million tonnes of LNG from Qatar and the UAE compared to 2025.
Chief Operating Officer Guido Brusco detailed the strategy at the Gastech 2026 conference. Eni aims to exceed 20 million tonnes of contracted LNG per year by 2030.
Recent agreements in Indonesia and the Argentina LNG project support this expansion. The company is shifting toward regionalization to improve supply security.
