Eni has begun start-up activities at the Meleiha Phase 2 project in Egypt’s Western Desert through its joint venture, Agiba Petroleum Company. The project is a key step in developing a new gas hub in the Merged Meleiha concession and will substantially increase gas processing capacity.
The new facility is designed to process up to 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. It includes development wells, gathering systems and a new gas export pipeline to connect production to Egypt’s existing gas network. The infrastructure is expected to support rapid resource monetization, improve operational efficiency and increase natural gas availability for the domestic market.
