Multiple law firms announced the filing of a securities-fraud class-action lawsuit against The Chemours Company. The lawsuit alleges that the company and its executives overstated demand for Opteon refrigerants and gave unreliable financial guidance for 2026.
The allegations stem from Chemours’ August 4, 2026, announcement that it was cutting its full-year guidance. The company also disclosed that customers had built up significant inventory in the prior year, creating an “oversupplied channel.” After the announcement, Chemours shares fell more than 18%.
Mizuho reiterated its Neutral rating and lowered its price target to $15, citing cautious analyst sentiment and persistent weakness in key segments.
