BYD launched the second-generation Seagull in Zhengzhou, China, on October 20, 2026. The hatchback is positioned as BYD’s most affordable flash-charging EV and is larger than its predecessor, with seating for five.
The new model features BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery technology, which supports flash charging. Buyers can also opt for a LiDAR system, bringing an advanced driver-assistance feature to the lower-priced segment.
The Seagull is powered by a 95 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor.
