AstraZeneca reported positive high-level results from two separate Phase III lung cancer trials.
The SAFFRON trial showed that Tagrisso combined with Orpathys significantly improved progression-free and overall survival. This study targeted patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) exhibiting MET overexpression or amplification.
The DESTINY-Lung04 trial demonstrated that Enhertu provided a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival. The therapy outperformed the standard of care as a first-line treatment for HER2-mutant advanced NSCLC.
Both drug combinations maintained safety profiles consistent with their known individual effects. AstraZeneca expects to share these findings with global regulatory authorities.
