Axon announced the next-generation Axon Body 5, a body-worn camera designed to support real-time AI in the field. It delivers 25 times the AI processing power of previous models, enabling advanced features and on-the-spot intelligence for officers.
For the first time, Axon is offering two versions: the Body 5 and Body 5 Pro. Both feature improved low-light video, enhanced connectivity and 20% longer battery life. The Pro model adds a near-focus camera for scanning documents such as driver’s licenses, allowing officers to check information without returning to their vehicle.
The new cameras are designed to work with Axon’s AI Era Plan, which supports features including real-time translation and Draft One, which automates report writing from audio. The hardware also supports Axon Guardian, an AI feature that can detect potential conflicts and automatically alert support teams.
