Amazon announced Friday that it is raising prices by approximately 15% for EC2 Capacity Blocks, which give customers access to high-demand Nvidia chips for AI workloads. The increase applies to processors ranging from older A100 chips to newer B300 chips.
Amazon plans to spend $220 billion on capital expenditures this year as it builds out its AI infrastructure. The Financial Times reported that the company is exploring a sale-and-leaseback arrangement for about $8 billion worth of advanced Nvidia chips to manage the assets and costs more effectively.
Amazon shares rose 1% in premarket trading following the news.
