Germany, a core A400M operator, is reportedly considering an order for 16 additional Airbus A400M military transport aircraft. The potential order could help sustain the production program, which has struggled to secure a steady stream of new orders.

The A400M is designed for both tactical and strategic airlift missions. Germany’s consideration signals renewed confidence in the aircraft’s capabilities. A firm order would extend production visibility and support Europe’s defense industrial base.

The aircraft is powered by four Europrop International TP400-D6 turboprop engines. It can carry a payload of up to 37 tonnes.
