Samsung Electronics' 12-layer HBM4E, its next-generation high-bandwidth memory, has reportedly passed quality validation with key customers, including Nvidia and major hyperscalers. The milestone positions Samsung to compete for supply to future AI accelerators.

The qualification allows Samsung to advance in the supply process. Contract sizes, supply volumes and mass-production timelines have not been confirmed.

Designed for next-generation AI hardware, HBM4E is expected to improve speed, bandwidth and power efficiency over earlier versions.
