Samsung Electronics expects its semiconductor division to reach 370 trillion won ($274 billion) in operating profit by 2026.
This revised figure surfaced during recent discussions between company management and the labor union. The new target represents a significant increase from the 330 trillion won estimate reported in June and the 300 trillion won forecast from May.
Management attributes the optimistic outlook to surging demand for artificial intelligence semiconductors. Rising prices for DRAM and NAND flash memory also contribute to the projected growth.
The chip division remains Samsung’s primary profit driver, accounting for the vast majority of total earnings.
