Samsung Electronics reported preliminary third-quarter operating profit of 107.4 trillion won (about $80.1 billion), nearly nine times the year-earlier figure. Revenue more than doubled to 195 trillion won. The results marked the company’s fourth straight quarter of record results and made it the first South Korean company to post quarterly operating profit above 100 trillion won.
