Samsung Electronics increased prices for advanced contract chipmaking services by up to 15% for new orders. This adjustment responds to a significant spike in demand driven by artificial intelligence applications. The move marks a potential turning point for a foundry business that has remained unprofitable since 2022.

Price increases for 4-nanometer (SF4) and 5-nanometer (SF5) processes range between 10% and 15%. Older 8-nanometer technology prices rose by nearly 10%.

Demand is particularly strong among Chinese customers. These clients face the steepest price increases as U.S. export curbs limit their options for sourcing advanced chips.
