Samsung Electronics denied reports on Tuesday regarding a potential U.S. listing of American Depositary Receipts (ADRs). A company spokesperson confirmed the firm is not reviewing the issuance of these securities.
The denial follows a Bloomberg News report that Samsung held preliminary discussions with banks about a U.S. offering. Speculation grew after rival SK Hynix raised approximately $26.5 billion in its recent U.S. debut.
The SK Hynix transaction stands as the largest-ever U.S. listing by a foreign company. Market observers suggested this success provided Samsung fresh motivation to explore similar options.
