Samsung Electronics and five affiliates are jointly investing $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, an AI-focused company launched by private equity firm KKR. Samsung Electronics will contribute $500 million, with its affiliates providing the other half. The affiliates include Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS and Samsung SDI.

The investment makes Samsung a founding investor in Helix alongside KKR, Nvidia, the Kuwait Investment Authority and Vistra. Helix aims to build and operate critical AI infrastructure, including hyperscale data centers and their power systems.

The move signals Samsung’s strategy to expand beyond component manufacturing and take a larger role in financing and developing the AI ecosystem.
