China’s ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) is rapidly gaining ground on global DRAM leaders. According to Q2 2026 data from Counterpoint Research, CXMT’s revenue share jumped to 10% from 4% a year earlier. This growth established the company as the world's fourth-largest DRAM manufacturer.

The combined market share of industry leaders Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron fell from 94% to 87% over the past year. Samsung Electronics maintained the top position with a 38-39% market share. SK Hynix saw its share decline to 25-26%, while Micron held steady at approximately 24-25%.

CXMT is leveraging expanded production capacity to meet surging domestic demand in China. These factors are intensifying competition for the traditional dominant players in the memory chip sector.
