Zain Group and Qatar’s Ooredoo have launched the first phase of a telecom tower joint venture, combining approximately 4,000 tower assets in Kuwait and Qatar. [1, 3, 4] The launch comes nearly three years after the operators signed their initial agreement. [1, 3] Each operator owns a 50 percent stake in the jointly owned platform. [1, 3]

The venture will manage passive telecommunications infrastructure, helping the operators improve efficiency, reduce capital expenditure and make better use of their assets. [3] Its Infrastructure-as-a-Service model is intended to support more efficient 5G expansion across the Middle East. [3] The operators did not disclose financial details. [3] The platform is designed to expand by adding other tower portfolios. [3]
