Volkswagen Anhui will launch the ID. UNYX 09, its second electric vehicle developed with XPeng, on October 24. The company confirmed the date with a countdown poster on Weibo on October 21. The sleek electric sports sedan uses XPeng technology.
The ID. UNYX 09 follows the ID. UNYX 08 SUV as the second product from the partnership. Pre-sales began on September 24. Prices range from 199,900 to 249,900 yuan.
The sedan will use XPeng’s Turing AI chip for its advanced driver-assistance system. The system supports navigation on autopilot on highways and in urban areas. Partnering with Volkswagen is central to XPeng’s strategy to monetize its technology.
