Ford has halted F-150 production at its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan for nearly a full week because of an unspecified supplier issue. The disruption has also led to the cancellation of some shifts at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant, which also builds the truck.

The F-150 is Ford’s most important product line, so the interruption could put the company’s revenue and profitability at risk. Ford is trying to limit the impact by increasing production at its Kentucky Truck Plant, but it is unclear whether that will offset losses from Dearborn and Kansas City.

Ford’s total U.S. sales fell about 10% year over year through August 2026. F-Series sales declined 11% over the same period. The company is already projected to lose U.S. market share, and the production disruption could add to its challenges in a competitive market.
