Prysmian and Aurubis signed their largest-ever long-term agreement for copper wire rod supply. This deal deepens a partnership spanning more than three decades. Prysmian is the world’s largest cable producer, while Aurubis is Europe’s top copper producer.
The contract secures copper supply for power grids, renewable energy projects, and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Aurubis will provide lower-carbon copper rod featuring significant recycled content. The material maintains a carbon footprint below the global average.
This partnership strengthens Europe’s industrial value chain for metals critical to global electrification. It ensures Prysmian maintains a flexible supply of sustainable materials for the energy transition.
