Smartphone sales in China fell 13% year-over-year during the month-long 618 shopping festival. Counterpoint Research attributes the decline to manufacturers raising prices to offset surging memory semiconductor costs. These price hikes resulted in less aggressive promotions and weakened consumer demand.

Huawei secured the top market share spot as sales grew 19%. Most other major Chinese brands reported double-digit sales declines. Honor sales plummeted 33% during the festival period. Xiaomi sales dropped 24% compared to the previous year. Apple sales declined 9% despite significant discounts on iPhone 17 Pro models.
