X-energy announced its first procurement order for steam generator tubing and helical coils for its Xe-100 advanced small modular reactor (SMR). The order marks a key step toward the reactor’s first planned deployment: a four-unit plant with Dow in Texas under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program.
Global manufacturer Alleima will produce the specialized high-temperature alloy tubing. Doosan Enerbility will fabricate it into helical coils. The components are essential to the steam generator, which produces high-temperature steam for electricity and industrial heat applications.
The order strengthens X-energy’s supply chain as it advances commercial projects with partners including Dow, Amazon, and Centrica.
