TRISO-X, a subsidiary of X-Energy, completed vertical construction of the TX-1 facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The project represents the first commercial-scale plant in the U.S. dedicated to fabricating advanced nuclear fuel. Work will now shift to interior buildout and the installation of fabrication equipment.

The facility spans 214,000 square feet. Once operational, it will produce enough fuel annually for up to 11 Xe-100 small modular reactors. This development supports X-Energy’s planned reactor deployment at Dow Inc.’s site in Texas.

The project operates under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. This milestone advances the company’s strategy to commercialize its proprietary nuclear technology.
