Wells Fargo & Company appointed Cayetano Gea-Carrasco as head of AI and Data for its Consumer Banking and Lending division on October 15, 2026. Gea-Carrasco joins Wells Fargo from BBVA. At BBVA, he led the enterprise-wide AI transformation. He will be based in San Francisco.
Gea-Carrasco will report to Saul Van Beurden. Van Beurden serves as head of Enterprise AI and co-CEO of Consumer Banking and Lending. Gea-Carrasco will oversee the lifecycle of AI applications. He will simplify the data environment. He will accelerate the responsible implementation of artificial intelligence. These efforts aim to enhance customer experiences within the bank's largest business line.
