Verizon Communications and Corning reached a multi-billion dollar supply agreement for high-density optical fiber through 2032.

The deal accelerates Verizon’s nationwide broadband expansion for both consumer and business customers. It also establishes the high-capacity backbone necessary for next-generation artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Verizon aims to reach 40 million to 50 million broadband passings using these materials. The company plans to deploy a single, converged network architecture that unifies mobile and broadband services.

This investment secures the physical infrastructure required to meet the low-latency demands of AI hyperscalers.
