Vertex Pharmaceuticals finalized its acquisition of Crinetics Pharmaceuticals on September 1, 2026. The transaction carries a total equity value of approximately $10 billion. Crinetics now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vertex following the initial merger announcement in July 2026.
The acquisition expands Vertex’s portfolio into endocrine diseases, moving beyond its core cystic fibrosis franchise. Vertex gains PALSONIFY® (paltusotine), a commercial treatment for acromegaly. The deal also includes atumelnant, a late-stage candidate for congenital adrenal hyperplasia and Cushing’s syndrome.
Vertex anticipates these two assets could generate over $5 billion in combined peak annual revenue. The company expanded its executive team to manage the integration and future growth.
