Volkswagen AG is recalling more than 250,000 vehicles in the United States across two separate safety campaigns.

The first recall affects 208,724 vehicles, including 2018 Tiguan, 2018-2019 Atlas, and 2019-2021 Audi Q3 models. A steering rack bolt in these models may corrode and break. This defect can lead to a complete loss of steering control.

The second recall involves 49,958 units of the 2025 Tiguan. A software error in the body control module may cause the system to reset. This malfunction can trigger engine stalls or disable safety features like rearview cameras and warning lights.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published the recall reports.
