The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) opened an investigation on October 9, 2026, into Vicor Corporation’s allegations of patent infringement involving its vertical power delivery (VPD) technology. Vicor claims several companies unlawfully import and sell systems and components that infringe its patents.
Vicor is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders to block the products from the U.S. market. Approximately 20 companies are named as respondents, including Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn), Delta Electronics, Quanta Computer and Infineon Technologies. The technology is used in high-performance computing.
The USITC said opening the investigation does not constitute a finding on the merits. The case will be assigned to an administrative law judge for a hearing.
The investigation is Vicor’s latest step in a broader patent-enforcement strategy involving its power-delivery architecture.
