TotalEnergies and partner AMNI reached a Final Investment Decision for the Ima offshore gas field in Nigeria.
The project will supply 350 million cubic feet of gas daily to the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) facility.
This supply supports the NLNG Train 7 expansion project.
The expansion aims to increase total plant capacity from 22 to 30 million tons per annum.
The Ima field will provide approximately one-third of the gas required for the expansion.
Production is scheduled to commence in 2028.
The project design includes low-emission features like shore-based power and permanent methane monitoring.
This development secures low-cost gas resources to meet rising global LNG demand.
