OPEC+ has delayed a review of its members’ oil production capacity, which will help set output quotas for 2027. The review was originally due to be completed by the end of September 2026. It is now expected to finish by mid-November.

U.S. consultant DeGolyer and MacNaughton is conducting the assessment. The U.S.-Israeli war on Iran has reportedly disrupted energy projects across the Middle East and added uncertainty about future production potential, contributing to the delay.

The findings will inform negotiations over new production baselines, which determine how much each member country may pump. The delay makes it harder to assess sustainable production capacity and adds uncertainty for oil markets already facing heightened geopolitical risk.
