Costco Wholesale reported robust fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 results after the market closed on September 24.

The company earned $6.75 per share, up 15% year over year. That topped analyst expectations of $6.53 per share.

Revenue rose 11.2% to $93.9 billion, beating forecasts. Total-company comparable sales increased 9.4%. Digital revenue jumped 19.5%.

The results offer insight into the health of the U.S. consumer, a key indicator for the broader consumer staples sector. Net income increased 14.9% to $3.0 billion.

The report included a nonrecurring $0.15-per-share benefit from tariff refunds. Excluding that benefit, earnings still beat consensus, but by a narrower margin. Growth in membership fee income, a key profit driver, decelerated.

Costco's stock had a muted reaction in pre-market trading. The tariff refund disclosure and slower growth in membership fee income may have tempered investor enthusiasm.

Costco ended its fiscal year with 939 warehouses worldwide. It announced plans to open 28 new locations in the coming year.
