The Coca-Cola System in Nigeria announced plans to invest $1 billion in the country over the next five years. The investment depends on a predictable and enabling policy environment in Nigeria. It would build on the system’s existing economic contributions to the country.
A recent socio-economic assessment found that the Coca-Cola System supported approximately 160,200 jobs. It generated $1 billion in value-added economic activity. The assessment also found that the system sources about $601 million in goods and services locally each year.
The planned investment aligns with the system’s sustainability initiatives. These include a $25 million water stewardship program across Africa and a major PET plastic processing hub in Lagos. The investment signals a strategy to deepen Coca-Cola’s integration into Nigeria’s economy and expand its operations.
