Visa is in advanced negotiations to acquire Fireblocks, a provider of digital asset custody and stablecoin infrastructure, for approximately $2.5 billion, according to multiple sources. The talks are in the late stages, but neither company has confirmed a deal.

If completed, the acquisition would mark Visa’s first in the stablecoin space and expand its blockchain-based payment infrastructure. Fireblocks serves institutional clients with tools to custody, transfer and settle digital assets.

Fireblocks was valued at $8 billion in a 2022 funding round.
