USA Rare Earth formed a strategic partnership with quantum computing leader Pasqal and AI specialist Riven Systems. The collaboration focuses on developing next-generation separation technology for rare earth elements.

The team will use quantum machine learning to identify new separation molecules. These molecules aim to bind more effectively to rare earths than current alternatives. This technology intends to create smaller, lower-cost, and more energy-efficient processing facilities.

The project targets the separation of mixed rare earth carbonate, a process currently dominated by China. This initiative seeks to build a more secure and competitive Western supply chain for vital heavy rare earths.

USA Rare Earth's stock rose 2.9% in pre-market trading on Thursday following the announcement.
